Rhiya Printers
A robust application designed to handle orders, inventory, and customer management for Rhiya Printers. Built with a focus on scalability and usability to streamline daily operations.

01. The Problem
Rhiya Printers was managing orders, inventory, and customer records manually using spreadsheets and paper forms. This caused frequent errors, delayed order processing, and made it impossible to get a real-time view of business operations.
02. The Solution
Built a full-stack web application giving staff a centralised dashboard to create and track orders, manage product inventory with low-stock alerts, and maintain a searchable customer database — all updated in real time.
03. Architecture & Tech Decisions
Three-Tier Architecture with a React frontend, Node.js/Express REST API, and MongoDB database. The separation of concerns allowed the UI and backend logic to evolve independently.
04. Testing Strategy
Implemented unit tests for business logic and integration tests for API endpoints. Manual QA was performed across different roles (admin, staff) to validate permission boundaries.
05. Deployment
Deployed via CI/CD pipeline to Vercel (frontend) and Render (backend API). Environment-specific configs managed through environment variables.
06. Lessons Learned
Learned the importance of user testing with actual staff early in development. Several UI flows were redesigned after watching how real users interacted with early prototypes.
