A sleek, visually focused web application for photographers to showcase their work and manage client bookings.
01. The Problem
The client, a professional photographer, was using a generic template website that didn't reflect their brand and had no way for clients to browse packages or make inquiries directly online — leading to lost leads.
02. The Solution
Designed and built a bespoke, visually stunning portfolio site with a curated gallery, package showcase, and a contact/inquiry form. The design language was derived directly from the photographer's editing style — clean, warm, and minimal.
03. Architecture & Tech Decisions
Single-Page Application built with React and Tailwind CSS. Framer Motion drives all page transitions and gallery animations. Optimised image loading with lazy loading and progressive rendering for fast performance on photo-heavy pages.
04. Testing Strategy
Cross-browser tested on Chrome, Firefox, and Safari. Lighthouse audit run to ensure Performance score above 90 on desktop and 80 on mobile. Responsiveness validated across 6 breakpoints.
05. Deployment
Deployed to Vercel with automatic deployments on push to main. Custom domain (snap4u.lk) connected via DNS configuration.
06. Lessons Learned
Working closely with a non-technical client taught me to present design decisions visually rather than technically. Showing mockups and getting sign-off before coding saved significant rework time.
